Okay okay I know what you’re thinking...
‘Change the record Ash. Another Illamasqua product?’ But indulge me... My will
power just NEVER works when it comes to this brand. If you know me at all you’ll
know that when it comes to make-up I’m pretty faithful to my standard matte red
and purple lips. So never in a million years did I think I’d be writing about a
nude satin lipstick that I love… And yep. I said nude.
There seems to be a general pattern
emerging when Illamasqua launch a new collection and it goes a little like this:
New collection launch è Aisling obsesses è Aisling’s
bank balance eventually takes a hit.
Although this is the
general routine I honestly didn’t think I’d be that fussed abut the Nude
Glamore launch. Nudes just ain’t weren’t my thing. That was until I
stepped in store and the gorgeous makeup and my slight hangover over whelmed be and I knew I had to have
something, I’ve only owned one nude lippy before and I didn’t really like it so
I knew I’d have to talk to someone. As usual the staff in the Liverpool store were
amazing, sitting me down and talking me through the colours, applying each to
see how I felt about it. I opted for Rosepout, a neutral pink brown with a
satin finish. This shade is a few shades lighter than my own lip tone so it was
a big shock to the system. But I have to say I really love it. It’s perfect for
everyday wear (unlike my deep purples and loud reds) so I already know I got my
moneys worth. I’m also loving this shade as it allows me to really go crazy with my
smoky eyes as I don’t have to worry about it being ‘too much’ (aka. clown
face.)
The formula is the same
as my previous Glamore shade in ‘Glissade’, creamy and glides on the lips like
a dream. (No dry lips for me!) The satin finish means it is more likely to
transfer if you’re not careful. But even if there is a slight transfer the colour
remains opaque, which is fine by me! If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram you'll have seen me bumming this lippy up a-lot already. I just can't get enough!
So there we have it; a
glowing review of a nude. I never thought I’d see the day! Illamasqua you can
do no wrong. Do you wear nudes or are you more of a bright lip lover? xo
This is such a gorgeous shade and it looks lovely on you! I'm the total opposite as I love my nudes but get quite scared of dark & loud colours, so this range from Illamasqua looks like something I should try out :) x

Thank-you so much! I was actually scared of this nude as ridiculous as it sounds! Their lipsticks are amazing I honestly can't recommend them enough xx
DeleteWhat a beautiful nude! I could definitely see myself wearing that lipstick on a daily basis. At the moment, I mostly wear a nude lip (MAC Creme Cup) but I think that'll change rapidly now that fall is finally here and my MAC Russian Red is on its way to my place! I've never tried Illamasqua products before but you totally convinced me of their quality, I think I need to check some out soon!

DeleteWhat a gorrrrgeous shade! I love nudes, and it seems so wearable for day or night ^__^ You've given me some serious lipstick lust here haha. Great post! :)
