It is no secret to anyone that I have an
unhealthy obsession with all things matte. Especially lips. So when my last lip balm (the Blistex Relief
Cream) ran out I popped straight to Boots to pick up another one. Of course as
luck would have it they were out of the Relief Cream, but they did have the
Blistex MedPlus balm available so I opted for it instead. I had to - I cannot go a day with out lip balm!
This little blue pot contains several
medicated ingredients (too complicated to list), as well as Jojoba Oil and
Cocoa Butter to condition and menthol to add some refreshing coolness. I knew
I’d like this as I’ve always favoured medicated lip balms over any other.
Vaseline and lip butters just never worked for me! And this little gem has
certainly not disappointed. It’s smooth texture glides on the lips and you can
feel it working the minute it’s on.
Due to excessive use of a lip plumping
gloss aged 13 (yep…) I have rather large lips so I have to take good care of
them. I exfoliate with my Lush Lip Scrub every night before bed and then apply
a thick layer of MedPlus. When I wake up in the morning my lips feel amazing!
So soft and replenished from whatever product I’ve used on them the day before
(usually a matte - lets be honest) and they’re primed for the next day’s wear.
Sometimes if I’ve been particularly hard on my lips I will wear this product
during the day. I used to be wary of this when I used the Blistex Relief Cream
as it left a white residue – but this balm is clear and just leaves a subtle
shine.
This has become my new staple in my
handbag! And I’ve repurchased since I first bought it. It is definitely the
best lip balm I’ve used in a long long time and I know I’ll be using it well
into the future! What are your favourite lip balms? Do you like medicated
products too? xo
I recently tried the Blistex Relief Cream and loved it but then I lost it! This sounds like an even better replacement though, I'm definitely going try it - thank you for showcasing it.
