I am back to the beauty! I hope you guys
haven’t minded my little life ramblings lately; I’ve just had so much going on.
Today I’m going to talk about an item I bought way back in February but I just
haven’t had the chance to blog about it!
I’ve been using Chanel perfumes for a long
time but this is my first venture into their make-up. My mum has used Chanel for ages but I
personally didn’t like the consistency of her foundation and (stupidly) assumed
all products would be similar. How wrong I was! I went to the Chanel stand in
Debenhams and the lovely assistant helped me to choose Perfection Lumière, which is meant to be good for oily skin (á la me).
I went for the colour B10 and I have to say
I was really impressed with how well this matched my skin! I don’t think I’ve
ever had a foundation that blended so perfectly, and this gave me a lovely
natural finish that is perfect for spring. The foundation is medium coverage
and although I usually like full, it’s buildable to cover any redness or
blemishes. Sometimes I find just popping a bit of concealer on those areas does
the trick and doesn’t look too caked on.
The formula does have good coverage and is
relatively long-lasting. However its matte finish isn’t really matte enough
for me and I find myself having to re-apply powder throughout the day.
Obviously this is good as it doesn’t dry your skin out too much, but it’s a bit
of a pain having to keep checking if I’m shine-free (I’m usually not). I am
aware that I have a really oily t-zone so this may not be the case for
everyone but I was personally disappointed in this aspect.
All in all I do like this product but I
think I’ve had better results with cheaper foundations, so I probably won’t be investing
again! I’m gutted but I guess not all high-end foundation works for everyone! What are
your favourite Chanel foundations? Have you tried Perfection Lumière? xo
I've always preferred high street foundations but would love to try studio sculpt! That sucks but at least its not so bad that you wont use it! xx
ReplyDeleteI know I'm defo sticking to my Mac Studio Fix, it's only £21.50 and it works far better for me! Yeah exactly I'll use it for short-wear days haha xx
DeleteDefinitely try the velvet Aisling! I have a very oily tzone aswell and it is much better at keeping the oil at bay. The only thing is it provides only a low coverage, so you might not like that!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the woman on the Chanel counter in Debenhams. Always makes me laugh!

Yeah I was thinking that! I love full for going out, but everyday I don't mind medium and then just topping up with concealer. I'll give it a swatch and see anyways! I'm pretty happy with my mac atm though and it's cheaper so I might just save my pennies haha xx
DeleteOh wow this sounds like such a lovely foundation, although such a shame you have to keep topping up with powder :( you don't want that hassle! xx

I know it's such a pain! But I'm really oily like I said so I kind of have to do that with every foundation. When it's so expensive I don't really want to have to do that though :( xx
