Okay so I know it's technically 'Summer' now but I've only just got my Spring look sorted! Stupid Irish weather. It's only really got bright with me recently, and the change has led me to mix-up my usual make-up routine a bit and I thought I might like to share it with you all.
First up is my base, which admittedly hasn’t changed too much between the months but indulge me.. I moisturize using my Nivea Daily Essentials: Oil-Free Moisturising Day Cream for Oily & Combination Skin, and then prime with Maybelline Baby Skin. I find these two products paired gives the smoothest base on which to apply foundation. I still love my MAC Studio Fix Fluid but now I’m wearing it a-lot lighter than usual! I think this is much better for a spring look as I personally like my skin to have a healthy glow. I then apply some Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer anywhere I might showing signs of tiredness. This concealer is perfect for spring as it’s very light and doesn’t look too obvious that you’ve got it on.
Now for the biggest change, the eyes! I am very faithful to my browns and tope colours when it comes to the eyes, but since purchasing Naked 3 I’m becoming (slightly) more accustomed to rose-golds. Day-time looks always mean matte shadows for me, so from N3 I use Strange (a pale pearlescent shade) on the inner corners and to the middle of the eye before blending with Limit (a dusty rose) on the outer corners. Finally I use Nooner (a medium pinky-brown) through the crease to give my eye some depth without looking too perfect.
When it comes
to liner I sometimes find using black on those pink-tones can look a bit harsh!
Enter the gorgeous Illamasqua Precision Ink in Havoc that my sister picked up
for me (well done Carla). This liner is a gorgeous aubergine colour that I use to create winged
liner. This liner really makes my eyes pop! It’s a really subtle colour that is
still dark enough to be paired with black mascara – perfect. But before
applying this I line my waterline with a nude pencil to make the eyes look
bigger. I also don’t coat my bottom lashes for this look, purely because I
think it makes me look more doe-eyed!
Finally I lightly powder my T-Zone with a loose powder and pop my favourite rosy pink lipstick on. I used to be quite heavy handed with powder and cover the whole face, but I’m currently favouring a more dewy skin look.
And that is it! I hope you enjoyed this
insight to my latest spring look (even if it was quite lengthy)! Have you guys
changed up your make-up now that the weathers improving? xo
Love your makeup its fab :) i have yet to purchase any of the Naked palettes but you look stunning, and i haven't tried any illamasqua either but i think i might now especially the aubergine liner, I love that idea for a change x
ReplyDeleteAw thakns so much! To be honest if it was your first palette I wouldn't go for Naked 3, my favourite is the original Naked, much more versatile and flattering. Everyone that comments my blog says they barely use Illamasqua but it's my favourite brand! The liner is amazing and they do it in lots of different colours! xx
DeleteThis is a really cute look. So rosy and spring-like! I've just bought the Naked 3 palette and I can't wait til it arrives and I can experiment!! x
