Hi everyone! Today’s post is reviewing No.
7 Total Renewal micro-dermabrasion exfoliator. Bit of a mouthful eh. I picked
this up a couple of weeks ago in Boots as I had one of those super handy No 7 skincare vouchers. Being honest I am usually very lazy when it comes to skin care,
I used to only use a face wipe (the shame!). But recently I’ve improved and got
a few skincare bits. Because it’s been a long time since I used an
exfoliator I decided to try one out again.

I’ve always been a fan of No. 7 beauty
products and I’d never tried their exfoliator so it seemed to be the best
choice. I read the leaflet carefully before using because my skin tends to be
quite sensitive to new products. The leaflet explains that micro-dermabrasion
was until recently, only carried out by professional dermatologists but now we
can get the same results at home (yay!).

The Liebster Award. (No autographs please..)
29.1.14
So last night
the lovely Lauren and Nyaomi nominated me for the Liebster Award!
The Liebster Award is a really fun way to promote bloggers with 200 followers
or less, and get to know a bit about everyone. My blog is very new so thank you
very much for nominating me ladies!
If you’ve been
nominated you simply answer 11 questions given to you, then create your own
questions and nominate 11 other bloggers to answer them. Since I’ve been nominated twice I’m going to
answer both sets of questions on this blog post. I’ll try keep the answers
short and sweet!
First up is
Laurens questions:
1. What do you enjoy most about blogging?
As I said my blog is relatively new but so far my
favourite part has definitely been the social aspect of it all. I had no idea
there were so many girls like me out there and I love how I’ve found all these
amazing blogs just by using a hashtag on twitter! I also love seeing what real
people think of products as you find out things you wouldn’t in the shop.
2. If you could only use one makeup brand, which would it be?
Illamasqua without a doubt! It already makes up
majority of my makeup stash.

Because who doesn't love a bargain?
Maybelline Brow Drama.
After living in Liverpool for 3 years it’s
safe to say I LOVE eyebrows and have had my mind set on picking up a brow gel
for ages! I was very excited when I finally got Maybelline Brow Drama in medium
brown.

Okay..
This is probably known as mortal sin
amongst us make-up lovers.. but currently I only have 1 piece of MAC makeup in my
collection... oops! I got Ruby Woo for my
birthday back in October and although I do adore it, I (for some reason) never got around to
buying anything else. I had another lipstick back in 2009 but this is shamefully all I've ever owned. I’ve always thought of myself as an Illamasqua girl but recently decided I need to branch out. So now I’m asking for YOUR help. What are your
must-have MAC products? I’m going to go on a bit of a splurge this week and
would love it if you could help me out with your suggestions of what I should
buy first because I am seriously clueless. Tweet me @Aising_Nagz or leave a comment please lovelies! xo

Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub.
20.1.14
Just a quick one today!
I got this little
gem for Christmas in a gorgeous Lush gift set and I already can’t go a day
without using it! This lip scrub in Popcorn is a lovely sugary caramel flavour.. but a bit
salty too. It’s hard to explain but either way it is yummy! All you do it pop
some on your lips, scrub it in and the all natural ingredients mean you can
lick it off! How easy. As someone who suffers from dry and chapped lips
constantly it has been a godsend, especially paired with my Carmex lip balm that I pop
on after. Lovely lips in an instant!

Lovely fresh ingredients including popping candy! (Yum). |
Just a little pointer that it does get a bit messy so I tend to use it either before my makeup or at night before bed. Sugary foundation is never a good look! xo

Contouring made easy with Illamasqua.
17.1.14
My first beauty post could be on nothing other than Illamasqua. As all my friends know I am pretty much obsessed. So, where do I begin with this? I've been eyeing up the Sculpting Powder Duo since November but only recently got my hands on it last week and it has not disappointed! It arrived on Wednesday evening in the usual black Illamasqua packaging and I couldn't wait to try it out.

Compact including Lumos: Champagne Highlighter and Heliopolis: Soft Matte Brown Contour. Mirror also included, perfect for on the go. |
Contouring for me was always a bit daunting, but after talking to the very helpful MUA at the Belfast counter of Debenhams I decided to give it a go. Now barely a day goes by when I don't contour! Heliopolis is a soft matte brown which I find goes on beautifully. Its colour means it looks fab on us paler girls without looking too orange (which I've had problems with previously). As with many Illamasqua products the colour is buildable so you can tailor the look to your needs. I tend to do a more dramatic contour if I'm on a night out or special occasion and softer ones for everyday wear.
Lumos is the champagne highlighter in the duo. Being brutally honest I've had nothing but bad experiences with previous highlighters. I always ended up looking too shiny, something I hate! So I must admit I was a bit sceptical when it came to trying it myself. The girl in the shop did it beautifully on me but I never thought I'd be able to achieve the same result. Using the Illamasqua Highlighter brush (another must-have for me) I simply place the highlighter on top of the cheekbones, down the nose, through the brow bone and on my cupids bow. I find it gives a lovely glowing finish without looking too shiny (yay).
My only criticism is that Lumos is quite powdery so it can make the compact a bit of a mess. But that's nothing that being gentle won't fix!
If you're new to contouring and a bit worried about giving it a go I really do recommend this duo. And if you go to a counter or shop the MUAs will usually sit you down and show you how its done and answer any questions you might have before you buy.
Until next time. xo
